First in the South Electric Meet was started in 2005 by a number of members of the West Pasco Model Pilots Association and the Pelican Soaring Society.  This event was made to help promote, both to the club, and the public, electric model aircraft.  At the time, electric aircraft were not well known.  Today they are leading the way.

Today, as when the event started, we have a few guidelines we like to follow.  Our goal is to show all manners of electric aircraft and to share these with others.  We welcome any type of electric aircraft you can think of.  Here you will find anything from the 'old timers' to modern electric ducted fans.  We also like to run a low key event (read low stress) that follows two rules as set forth at our first meet.  1. Be Safe.  2. Have fun.
